Liberia: Tight Race in Nimba

Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh, former Superintendent of Nimba County is making headlines in the county and receiving endorsement from her people, where the senatorial contest is even stiffer and unpredictable.

There are five candidates in the race and Edith is the only female amongst the men who have dominated the county leadership for years. Before now, Mrs. Gongloe Weh was superintendent, but she resigned in 2011 to contest the senatorial seat, a position she lost narrowly to Thomas Grupee.
