Nigeria: Benue Assembly Votes for LG Autonomy

Makurdi — The Benue State House of Assembly Tuesday unanimously voted in favour of the autonomy of local government councils and resolved that elected executives of councils in the state should be allowed to stay for four years.

Elected officials of the 23 local councils in the state were before now, constitutionally mandated to serve for two years.
