Nigeria: Eagles End 2014 in 43rd Spot

Year 2014 which started with so much promise for the Super Eagles capped yesterday with the Nigerian senior national team ranked 43rd globally and ninth best team in the African continent. According to the December rankings released yesterday by FIFA in Zurich, Eagles amassed just 656 points to drop one place from the November ranking.

Algeria maintained her strong hold at the top of the African rankings with Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Ghana making up the Top Five giants of the game in the continent. Ebola ravaged Guinea, Cape Verde and Cameroun were all ranked above Nigeria with 2012 Africa Cup of Nations champions, the Chipolopolo of Zambia in the 10th spot to complete the first ten teams in CAF standing.
