Nigeria: Asset Custodians Restate Commitment to Market Efficiency

The newly elected President of the Association of Asset Custodians, Mrs Kemi Adewole has assured investors that the association will continue to strive for an efficient capital market. Adewole said this yesterday at the association's second Annual General Meeting in Lagos where she was elected president to replace Mr. Segun Sanni.

She said: "The efficiency in the market is something that we continue to drive, we as custodians with the central bank as well as the central depository system have looked at automating our messaging system and we are talking about swift enabling. So we are basically looking at enhanced automation to make the market more efficient. That is basically what we continue to thrive to achieve."
