Nigeria: 71 Percent of Candidates Flunk WAEC

Lagos — A total of 168,639, representing about 71 percent of the 241,161 candidates who sat for the 2014 November/December West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE private) failed to obtain five credits including English Language and Mathematics.

At a press briefing in Lagos, the Head, Nigeria National Office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Charles Eguridu said only 72,522 candidates (29.37%) got five credits including in English Language and Mathematics.
