The West African Examinations Council recently released the results for the Nov/Dec 2014 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, with only 29 per cent of the candidates obtaining credit passes in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics. It was a marginal improvement on the performance for last year, when 27 per cent of those that sat for the examination had five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
The results for the other Senior Certificate examinations have not been very different lately.
