South Sudan: UN Chief Appoints Malian National As Deputy Envoy for South Sudan

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Moustapha Soumaré of Mali as his Deputy Special Representative (Political) for the UN Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS).

Mr. Soumaré, according to a statement issued by the Office of Mr. Ban's spokesperson, will succeed Raisedon Zenenga of Zimbabwe, who will be taking up the post of Deputy Special Representative of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
