Arusha — THE town of Mto wa Mbu that is usually prone to serious flooding during November and December has this year escaped the calamity, despite the torrential rains that hit many parts of Arusha and Manyara regions.
"Funny thing, this area recorded very little rains this time. In fact we are getting worried because this is also a rice growing area," said Mr Abdallah Yasin who lives in Majengo section of the ward.
