Egypt: Court Reduces Prison Sentence for 23 Activists Demonstrating Against Protest Law

Cairo — A misdemeanour court of appeals reduced on Sunday the three-year prison sentence served to 23 defendants charged with violating last year's protest law two two years.

Sanaa Seif, sister of prominent political activist Alaa Abdel Fattah, was sentenced in October alongside 22 defendants to three years in prison and a 10 thousand Egyptian-pound fine.
