Liberia: ECC Challenges Accusers to Provide Evidence

The Election Coordinating Committee (ECC), a Liberian election monitoring team, is calling on defeated candidates filing complaints to the National Elections Commission (NEC) about the just ended special senatorial election to provide sufficient and substantial evidence to prove their allegations of fraud.

In a statement issued amid the complaints that continue to mount, the ECC's chairman, Oscar Bloh, acknowledged that candidates of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) of Bomi County, Congress for Democratic Change of Maryland County and an independent candidate of Bong County, Dr. Henrique Tokpah, have all filed complaints alleging that the just ended election was characterized by fraud.
