South Africa: Two Police Members in the Dock for Corruption

Polokwane — Two constables who are members of the Limpopo provincial Tactical Response Team (TRT) will appear in the Polokwane Magistrates' Court on Monday after they were arrested late Thursday evening after allegedly demanding bribes from Zimbabwean citizens travelling in a bus.

The two members stopped the bus in Dorp Street, Polokwane at approximately 23:50 on Thursday evening. It is alleged that they entered the bus and demanded passports from the passengers. According to information the passengers were told that their passports were invalid and that everybody had to pay R100-00 before they could resume with their journey.
