Algiers — The illiteracy rate in Algeria is estimated at 14% in 2014 against 22% in 2008, chairperson of the Algerian Literacy Association "Iqra" Aicha Barki said Thursday in Algiers.
On the basis of studies conducted by the National Center of studies and analyzes for Population and Development (CENEAP), Barki noted during a conference on the status of public utility of associations, the illiteracy rate was dropped to 14% in 2014 compared to 2008 when it reached 22%.
