Angola: Soyo Energy Central to Supply Luanda, Country's North

Luanda — The energy central of combined cycle installed in Soyo district, northern Zaire province, is being prepared to supply electricity to the province of Luanda and the northern region, announced Wednesday, the minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges.

Speaking to ANGOP, at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, shortly before leaving Luanda for the province of Zaire, the minister said that the project, which should be completed in late 2017, will produce about 750 megawatts of electricity using natural gas. The Government minister added "it is the most important projects", of the sector, underway in the region.
