Following the destruction caused by heavy rains that has left many Malawians destitute, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is gearing up response to assist the areas declared as state of disaster by the President of Malawi in flood-affected districts of the country.
Working with the Government and other humanitarian partners, The WFP is moving to flooded areas with stocks of food from its regular programmes that will be replenished once the crisis is over.
