Moshi — TANZANIA is set to lose billions of shillings from the horticulture industry if concerted efforts are not made to tackle a dangerous outbreak of "tomato leaf miner" in the Northern Zone and Morogoro Region likely to wipe out this year's crop.
The pest, scientifically known as Tuta absoluta, is one of the major foliar pests that could cause a damage of from 50 -100 per cent of the crops.
