THE Namibian Standards Institute (NSI) is not the competent authority that controls the production and marketing of oysters in Namibia "at the moment", its chief executive officer Ali Kaakunga has told The Namibian.
He was approached for comment on Hong Kong's recent announcement to ban oysters from Walvis Bay because of alleged high cadmium levels discovered in the shellfish.
