Sudan: Explosion Destroys Houses in Blue Nile State's Capital

El Damazin / Khartoum — A huge explosion hit the capital of Blue Nile state on Thursday night. Speaking to Dabanga, a source reported from El Damazin that the explosion at the military garrison near the town set dozens of houses on fire, and caused great panic among the residents, who thought that fighting had broken out.

The spokesman for the Sudan Armed Forces, Col. El Sawarmi Khaled Saad, explained in a press conference in Khartoum on Friday, that ammunition in the garrison's stores detonated, which led to the burning of some houses in the vicinity.
