Nigeria: Armed Soldiers Lead PDP Takeover of Rivers Stadium

Port Harcourt — The controversy surrounding the use of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta-Ali, by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its January 28 presidential rally in Rivers State took a new turn on Saturday as heavily armed soldiers led the party to take over the facility.

THISDAY gathered that the soldiers moved into the stadium early in the morning and prevented workers from entering the facility.
