Nigeria: Soldiers Quell Riot in Suleja

Minna — Soldiers quickly intervened to stop a riot in Suleja, Niger State yesterday after two vehicles belonging to the PDP presidential campaign organization were set ablaze by unknown persons, Daily Trust gathered.

A witness said the vehicles, a bus and a Hilux van, were set ablaze at the Old Minna Motor Park in Suleja. It was not immediately clear what triggered the action, as sources said it was the handiwork of hoodlums, dismissing the involvement of the APC. The incident occurred shortly after the campaign train of the state PDP gubernatorial candidate left the town.
