Tanzania: No More Stunted Children, Please

THE government, with support from development partners, has initiated a programme that is tailored to reduce stunting in children under five years of age.

The scheme, to be overseen by Unicef, targets initially children in all districts in Mbeya and Njombe regions. The initiative is, indeed, a 90bn/- five-year-long undertaking that is designed to improve the welfare of children and their mothers in the two regions and, later on, elsewhere.
