Gambia: President Jammeh Reiterates Call for Peace, Security to Be Nurtured

The President of the Republic has once again reiterated the importance of peace and security saying it does not fall from heaven, they have to be created and nurtured through social imperatives like the rule of law and the equitable dispensation of justice.

Delivering the President, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh's statement at the Third Call to Bar of 27 new barristers' held at the forecourt of the Law Courts Building yesterday, Fatou Mbye, deputy Speaker of the National Assembly said for rule of law to prevail and justice to guide our actions towards the common good, all Gambians and non-Gambians everywhere in this country must have access to justice. This, she said is a challenge each and everyone must surmount together by, among other things, establish the necessary infrastructure for effective justice delivery and maintaining a critical mass of trained professionals to deliver justice to the doorsteps of every Gambian.
