Rwanda Holds Land Research Workshop

Kigali — Rwanda recently held the 3rd National Land Research Agenda Workshop which workshop serves as a critical space for identifying the land research priorities that will set targets for the research grants given by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Rwanda happens to be the most densely populated country in Africa, meaning that the land is valuable and is much more looked at, but it is scarce as well. This presents a challenge to us as the managers of natural resource to make sure it delivers the aspirations of our country and our people, but at the same time manage it in a manner that does not minimize the future generation to be able to live on it and this is what sustainable development is all about," the Director General Rwanda Natural Resource Authority (RNRA) Dr. Emmanuel Nkurunziza said during the opening of the workshop in Kigali last week.
