South Africa: Committee to Visit Fisheries Branch Offices

The Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will tomorrow, 3 February 2015, undertake an oversight visit to the Fisheries Branch Offices of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Cape Town. The purpose of the oversight visit is to oversee the operations in the Fisheries Branch Offices within the Department.

The Committee has a mandate, in terms of the Constitution, to exercise oversight over the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and its entities. The visit will further empower the Committee in monitoring and understanding policy implementation and related challenges, and will facilitate direct oversight on expenditure and service delivery, including delivery challenges.
