Tanzania: Committee Agitates for New Corruption Body

Dodoma — THE Constitution, Legal Affairs and Governance parliamentary committee has pushed for the establishment of special organ to deal with minor graft cases, while the existing Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) should be left to handle grand corruption cases which have a major impact on the country's socioeconomic development.

This, according to the committee, will greatly help win the battle against corruption which is on the increase. Reading the committee's report for 2014/2015 in the National Assembly on Tuesday, the newly elected chairman, Mr Jasson Rweikiza, pointed out that under the current situation, establishment of such organ was crucial.
