The High Court in Blantyre adjourned to 30 April 2015 the case in which the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) is accusing the Malawi Savings Bank (MSB) of paying two imposters who claimed to be the Commission's employees.
According to court documents, MSB is accused of paying the imposters K39.5 million without authorisation and through forged cheques. The electoral body is also demanding an interest of the cashed amount at 5 percent above the base banking rate, collection costs of MK5,925,000 as well as costs such as legal fees incurred as a result of the bank's alleged negligence.
