The Standing Committee on Appropriations is like an angel that exists to ensure the approval of the budgets of all government departments by Parliament and based on that, the National Treasury allocates the money to the respective government departments.

The failure of a government department to translate that money into the delivery of services to the people is an irreconcilable betrayal of the Committee by the department or government structure concerned.
