Nairobi — Kenya's efforts to address corruption and ensure professionalism within police ranks have taken a step forward with the announcement last week of the new and independent Internal Affairs Unit (IAU), which will be in charge of investigating all complaints against police officers.
The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) on January 28th announced the names of 77 officers who will be vetted next week for positions in the new unit.
