Gambia: 30 Gambian Youth Departs for Benin

30 Gambian youth who have been selected to undergo a six-month training on agriculture and entrepreneurial skills development at the Songhai Centre in Benin have departed for Benin on Thursday morning. The Government of The Gambia and UNDP funded the training.

Speaking at the orientation ceremony, the executive secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC), Marcel Mendy, urged the youth to make the best use of the opportunity accorded to them by the Gambia government. He reminded them that they are not going as individuals but they are going to serve as ambassadors of The Gambia and therefore they are representing the country.
