Ecobank, the Pan African bank, on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), allowing the Bank to receive payments of taxes on its behalf.
The signing made Ecobank the third financial institution to have met the criteria set by the Revenue Authority for this kind of engagement. Officials disclosed that in May 2011, the Authority piloted the scheme after it signed an MoU with the Guaranty Trust Bank.
