Sudan: Mass Rapes and the Future of UN Darfur Mission

United Nations — The future of the U.N. African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) could depend largely on determining what exactly happened in the town of Tabit in Northern Darfur at the end of October last year.

'Mass Rape in Darfur', a report released by Human Rights Watch (HRW) last week, documents over 200 alleged cases of rape of girls and women that occurred in Tabit over a 36-hour period on 30 October and 1 November last year.
