South Africa: Six More Suspects Arrested for Rhino Poaching

Six more suspected rhino poachers were arrested in Limpopo over the weekend, bringing the total arrests for the past week to 14.

Two suspects were arrested in the Gravelotte area when workers on the farm noticed strange tracks. They were followed for a few hours before the tracks disappeared. Another farmer assisted with his private helicopter and soon the suspects were spotted again as they were trying to flee. The Police arrested two suspects, while one succeeded in fleeing. Police confiscated two cell phones and poison. The search for the third suspect as well fire-arms and other instruments used for rhino poaching, is continuing. The will appear in the Phalaborwa Magistrates' Court on Tuesday on charges of trespassing as well as conspiracy to commit rhino poaching.
