Nigeria: No Plans to Attack Our Neighbours - Akwa Ibom Community

Uyo — The displaced people of Amazaba Community in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have denied the rumour that they were planning to attack Ikot Akpan Udo and other villages in Ete Clan in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.

The Amazaba people, after a meeting at Isiotoyo, a fishing settlement, where they are currently taking refuge following a bloody clash with the Ikot Akpan Udo people in 2008, said the rumour of a planned attack was being peddled for selfish reasons. Chairman of Amazaba Com-munity Development Council, Ezekiel George Tilligbor, warned those behind the rumour to desist from utterances capable of creating tension and fear among its citizens and neighbours.
