Algeria: Army Destroys Shelters and Blockhouses, Arrests Smugglers in Country's South

Algiers — Shelters and blockhouses were destroyed by the People's National Army (ANP) in the provinces of Bouira and Bordj Bou Arreridj where equipment and weapons were also discovered, while smugglers were arrested in the region of In Guezzam (south), said Saturday a statement of the Ministry of National Defence (MDN).

"As part of the counterterrorism efforts and following an operation conducted on Friday February 13, 2015 in the operational sectors of Bouira (1st military region) and Bordj Bou Arreridj (5th Military Region), Army's detachments discovered and destroyed 12 shelters and blockhouses, 03 kitchens, 03 generators, 20 hand-made bombs and grenades, 02 micro-laptops and other objects," the statement said.
