Liberia: Investigation Into U.S.$1.2 Million Oil Money Heightens - As LACC Invites Deputy Speaker, Snowe, Others

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) through its Executive Chairperson, Cllr. James Verdier, Jr., has informed the Legislature that it has launched an investigation and continues to investigate circumstances surrounding the disbursement of the US$1.2M in October of last year by the Ministry of Finance to the House of Representatives.

The LACC noted that the investigation stems from complaints and information to the LACC and public discussions involving Members of the House of Representatives relating to the source, receipt, expenditure and accountability of these funds in question.
