Botswana: System Helps Govt Nab Ghost Workers

Gaborone — Government has spent about P9 million on payment of 52 ghost employees from 2006.

The director of the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM), Ms Ruth Maphorisa said at a press briefing in Gaborone on February 24 that government had been able to stop the payments using the Oracle human resource database that replaced the Infinium system that was not integrated into the payroll.
