Tanzania: 18 Held in Connection With Kilolo Violence

POLICE in Iringa Region are holding 18 suspects in connection with acts of violence that left one person dead and four police officers and two civilians seriously injured at Ilula Township in Kilolo District on Monday.

Acting Iringa Regional Police Commander, Ms Pudenciana Protas, told the 'Daily News' over the phone that the riots ensued when the police were attempting to arrest people who are engaged in illicit brew business.
