Uganda: Nantaba Ordered to Keep Off Land Matters

In recent months, many people have been surprised by the silence of Idah Nantaba, the energetic junior minister for Lands.

Nantaba made her name as a vanguard fighter against alleged illegal land evictions, but it has now emerged that the minister's inaction was not deliberate. Court documents show that on November 24, 2014, Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo stopped Nantaba from presiding over land arbitration matters in the country.
