Ghana: IMF Mission Reaches Staff-Level Agreement With Ghana On an Extended Credit Facility Arrangement

press release

End-of-Mission press releases include statements of IMF staff teams that convey preliminary findings after a visit to a country. The views expressed in this statement are those of the IMF staff and do not necessarily represent the views of the IMF's Executive Board. Based on the preliminary findings of this mission, staff will prepare a report that, subject to management approval, will be presented to the IMF's Executive Board for discussion and decision.

A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Joel Toujas-Bernaté, visited Accra during February 19-26, 2015 to discuss the authorities' economic and financial program and possible financial support by the IMF. The mission reached staff-level agreement with the authorities, subject to approval by IMF Management and the Executive Board, on an economic program that could be supported by a three-year Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement. Proposed access could total SDR 664 million (around US$940 million), or 180 percent of Ghana's IMF quota. Consideration by the Executive Board is tentatively scheduled in early April 2015."
