Maputo — Torrential rains and high winds in the northern Mozambican province of Niassa destroyed 3,911 houses, leaving 14,170 people homeless, according to the provincial governor, Arlindo Chilundo.
Briefing President Filipe Nyusi, on Thursday in the town of Cuamba, Chilundo said that a further 282 houses had been severely damaged.
