Gambia: Adoption of Briefs in Amadou Sanneh's Appeal Deferred

The adoption of briefs in the appeal case of Mr. Amadou Sanneh, National Treasurer of the United Democratic Party (UDP), at the Gambia Court of Appeal was yesterday, 26 February, deferred to the next adjourned date.Mr. Sanneh is appealing against his conviction by a lower court in 2013 to serve five years on sedition related charges.

Appearing before the panel headed by the Court of Appeal president, Justice Emmanuel O. Fagbenle, and comprising Justices Naceesay Sallah-Wadda and Awa Bah, Ousainou Darboe, counsel for the appellant told the court that they are there for the adoption of briefs but that they were not served with the respondent's brief.
