Tanzania: Witness Testifies in Dar Hotel Rape Case

A PROSECUTION witness in the case involving some of the managers at the Dar es Salaam-based Sapphire Hotel, who allegedly pioneered the escape of an Indian national who attempted to rape a female hotel worker, had confirmed at the Kisutu Resident Magistrate's Court that the suspect was helped to escape by using the hotel's elevator.

Before Senior Resident Magistrate Frank Moshi, the witness testified that she was allocated by her superiors to handle the investigation of the case, because few weeks ago another incident of rape concerning the hotel had been reported and she was the one was assigned.
