On January 31, 2015, Compassion International Ghana launched its northern sector programme in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The climax of the launching was a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osie Tutu II, who was represented by Oheneba Adusei Poku.
Kumasi will be a point of contact between the northern sector and the southern sector of the country. Kumasi currently has two clusters, comprising 30 church partners and child development centres which are providing holistic child development to the needy children in the metropolis and surrounding suburbs and towns.
