Tanzania: Public Transport 'Consumers' Urged to Know Their Rights

MANY people coming from the low-income class and who have little education do not know their rights and responsibilities as passengers, a problem compounded by a myriad of huddles and outdated regulations and which in the event of an accident, makes it difficult for them to get their rights or compensation.

Chairman of Sumatra Consumer Consultative Council (SCCC) Ayubu Omari, made the remark in Dar es Salaam while launching Sumatra Consumer Students' Club at the Julius Nyerere International Trade Fair Grounds.
