Egypt: Wang Yi Meets With Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry of Egypt

On February 27, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with visiting Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry of Egypt in Beijing. Wang Yi expressed that President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt paid a successful visit to China last December, reaching a high degree of consensus with Chinese leaders on establishing the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership and deepening practical cooperation. In the next stage, the Chinese side stands ready to work with the Egyptian side to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, maintain high-level mutual visits, strengthen strategic mutual trust continually, accelerate production capacity cooperation and enhance communication and coordination on international and regional issues, in a move to enrich the connotation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Sameh Shoukry expressed that the Egyptian side cherishes the China-Egypt historic friendly relationship, and is willing to actively carry out the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, enhance cooperation in various fields and unceasingly deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, so as to maintain common interests.
