The Volkswagen Up is one of the most important cars Volkswagen has launched in recent years, but has only recently been made available to African markets. With the likes of the Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 1007 already filling the small car segment, is the Up still relevant? VW certainly seem to think so.
The Up certainly has character and charisma, a trait seriously lacking in this segment. Where most of the competition is drab and dreary, the Up pleases with its upbeat and cheery styling cues. Everything from the gaping grin to the friendly rear end, the Up is difficult not to love.
