Nigeria: FG Set to Establish Development Bank for SMEs

Succor may finally be on the way to address the funding challenge of operators of Small and Medium Enterprises going by the disclosure of the Federal Government that it was set to establish a bank for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who made this known at a stakeholders' Conversation on Communicating Government Policies, Programmes and Activities to Traditional Rulers, Market Men/Women organised by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), in Abuja, said that the bank, which would be called Development Bank of Nigeria, would be launched next month.
