Today marks Liberia's 58th observance of Armed Forces Day; a day set aside in recognition of the immense sacrifices and dedication of veterans and the gallant men and women serving in uniform.
We observe this day with mixed feelings especially when we reflect on and pay homage to the passing of Major General Suraj Alao Abdurrahman, former Command Officer-In-Charge of the Armed Forces of Liberia and Head of the ECOWAS Advisory Team to the AFL which sad event occurred two weeks ago in New York.
