Nigeria: NHRC - 2,000 Human Rights Violation Recorded in Borno

The National Human Right Commission (NHRC) has said that about 2000 human rights violation cases were recorded in Borno State in the last four years.

The coordinator of the commission in Borno State, Alhaji Babangida Labaran, said this in an interview with journalists yesterday. He disclosed that the cases include alleged rape, wanton destruction of properties, torture and brutality by security agencies. He said other instances of violation of human rights in the state included domestic cases like family dispute and violation of child rights by parents.
