East Africa: UN Demands Urgent Action Against Increasing Attacks on Albinos in Malawi and East Africa

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein has expressed dismay at a recent surge in violent attacks against people with albinism in several East African countries and Malawi.

In a statement made available to Malawi24 Zeid has called on authorities in all countries where they are occurring to prevent attacks on people with albinism, bring to justice alleged perpetrators and ensure that redress and rehabilitation for survivors and their families are made a priority.
