Observing a National Culture Week is one of the best platforms for maintaining, bequeathing cultural heritages, promoting unity and sharing distinctive cultural values among citizens. Hence, holding cultural festivals has paramount significance in building the country's overall image and perpetuating the inherent or homegrown cultural diversity.

As the colourful and all inclusive traditional performance of representatives of different ethnic groups showcased on the 5th Annual National Cultural festival held in Semera Afar from 22-27 February, 2015, a culture week had a great potential in attracting local and foreign tourists and boosting the economy of the local community and that of the country.
